PHOTOGRAPHY BASICS II: How it started
Day one on Basics II:
Composition, measuring highlights, selective focus, documentary approach to the subject, loosening the gaze, evaluating volumes and shapes from the absence of color, vanishing lines, rule of thirds, backlighting, depth of field control, etc!
We went to put everything into practice in our neighborhood to reinforce what we learned in Basics 1. Here, we can see some of the results!

We chose this body shop because it fulfilled important premises for the first practice of Basics II: people working, shadows, backlighting, machinery with its own aesthetics, reduced space, and intense light—photographers need to have demanding situations for their own evolution.
Documentary photography captures real-life moments, events, and environments authentically, aiming to tell stories and preserve history through visual records.
CLASS STARts at 9:00 a.m. at the school, 7117 North Miami Avenue 33150, I prepare coffee for those who drink! NOT EVERYONE drinks coffee, but I still have it for ALL OF those coffee lovers. on this occasion, WE REVIEWED WILLIAM KLEIN’s WORK AS A REFERENCE BEFORE Going TO our shooting locations. WIDE ANGLE LENSES were REQUIRED!
what happens when photographing outside?
I explain what we will see, what we can expect, and what a possible photographic approach might be. I personally check all the equipment that will be carried, and every student’s camera to make sure that the settings are correctly chosen. I also check cards and batteries to cover all the basics and ensure that everyone can focus on achieving the best photos available.
OUR PHOTOGRAPHY HONORED HARD WORK
Roberto, Jean, Alberto, Sindy, Raquel, Maria Jose, Dylan, Kathleen and Scarlett
This group goes from 11 years old to... me! That's a lot of years, decades, in fact!
There are many different interests, but a common purpose is to improve as photographers, to develop their own gaze, and to have the ability to build a narrative according to what they photograph.
Basics II is recommended for everyone who wants to come back to photography after some time without using a camera; there is always time for a good purpose like this one! it is also suitable for photo enthusiasts who learned how to use the camera, but haven’t had the time to practice or go deeper into the practice.
We make it our mission to seek out beauty where it's least expected
