Since I Left You by The Avalanches

How much of a unique sonic identity is gained in favor of emotional connection when an album is made up almost completely of samples? Is it possible for it to rise above its conceptual restraints and find something new to add to music? Though these are questions that can immediately pop into one’s mind upon hearing of this record, listening to it immediately shatters whatever misconceptions are held by the listener. It is hard to describe the stellar grooves and multilayered vocals (and horse neighs!!) present at every turn but with one adjective: exhilaration.
